High rip current risk is in effect through this evening for life-threatening rip currents at all ocean facing in Brooklyn and Queens.

A few hit or miss showers/thunderstorms are expected to arrive Thursday morning with an isolated threat during the afternoon.

NEXT: A slow-moving cold front will bring drenching rain to the boroughs Friday into Saturday afternoon. This front will tap into some of Beryl's tropical airmass and a southerly warm airmass to fuel these storms. Up to 1 inch of rainfall possible, with locally higher amounts with any downpours. There is a risk of street flooding/localized flooding across the city through Saturday.

The relentless heat and nasty humidity hang around into the weekend. Heat wave #3 likely next week, starting on Sunday through the midweek.
