In Little Caribbean, maybe you've noticed some old businesses leaving and new ones coming in. It's a change that Caribbean business owners do not fear.

According to the Flatbush Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District, there is a vacancy rate of less than 5% in the area. Businesses say the changes in the neighborhood can be scary but Caribbean businesses will preserve the culture.

"The good thing about the changes in the community, the different diversity of people, we're no longer laying back and allowing them to do whatever," said Star Spice owner Erica McBean.
