The NYPD was investigating the kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl in East New York. Authorities say the victim was last seen at a subway station on Pitkin Avenue after being forcibly placed into a car by two men.

Police say the teen, identified as Helen Maila Moscoso, sent a text message to her family around 3 p.m. Tuesday, informing them she had been abducted by two unidentified men.

Officers say the men forced her into a vehicle at the corner of Pitkin and Pennsylvania avenues and then took her to the Pitkin-Van Siclen Avenue subway station, which is located just over a quarter mile away.

Police say they were in contact with the victim via text message.
