Tene Stokes says her apartment is "raining."

She says there has been a leak in her bathroom for two years.

Stokes says that within the last three months, the leak has become more frequent, leaving her and her daughters with a bathroom full of what appears to be mold.

She has a lengthy call log with the Linden Plaza Apartment management and the maintenance office.

Stokes calls it a game of "cat and mouse." When she gets in touch with management on the phone, she says she is often told they will come by to fix it, but no long-term repairs are ever made.

Stokes says she reached out to News 12 to try and draw attention to this issue. While on sight, News 12 called management.

Before the News 12 crew identified themselves, they dismissed Stokes' concerns. After mentioning that News 12 would be showcasing the conditions of the apartment in a news segment, they said that help would be by shortly.

Stokes says that her home has been inspected by representatives from Section 8 housing before, but little to no work has been done to fix the damages.

News 12 asked New York City's Housing Prevention and Development if it is aware of the problems in Stoke's unit.

Its response, in part:

"Regarding the tenant...Linden Plaza maintenance workers were with the tenant’s apartment today to assess the conditions. Maintenance determined they need access to the unit above to address the concerns and attempted to gain access today. However, the tenants of the above unit were not home. They will try again in the morning. All mold will be remediated as soon as the leak is identified and resolved."

News 12 will continue to monitor the situation.
