The mother of a 6-year-old who was found dead in a Brooklyn bathroom was indicted on Friday.

Police say they discovered Madeline Tavarez after responding to a phone call from a home on Elton Street.

They say 26-year-old Karla Espinal is charged with assault, reckless endangerment and acting in a way that put a child in danger.

Court documents state that she told police she was baptizing the girl.
