People were out enjoying the warm temperatures on Friday, but the city is reminding people not to be deceived by the weather.

Officials say extreme heat is the No. 1 weather-related death.

The city encourages people to drink plenty of water and not stay out too long in the sun.

News 12 spoke with parkgoers at Brooklyn Bridge Park, like Isaac Arroyo, who says he plans on staying cool over the next few days while still having fun.

"The beach is my No.1 choice and I've already been to the pool a lot. And I have a lot of other ideas for summer, it's going to be my greatest summer ever," said Arroyo.
