Neighbors in Canarsie say their weekends are restless, thanks to booming music and late-night parties.

They've filed dozens of complaints but say little has changed.

"When they put the speakers in the back, it's a problem,” said neighbor Richard. “You have the TV on, the AC on the fan running, and you can still hear it very, very loud."

Brooklyn residents blame three venues: De Event Room and Hall of Dreamz on Remsen Avenue and Flashing Lights on Avenue A.

"You can't sleep, especially the bass,” Richard said. “You have stuff in the dining room and you just hear all the glasses, everything moving and shaking."

Neighbor Gloria Samerson says the parties have gotten worse since 2020.

"We really hear the blast of the music and the noises,” Samerson said. “It's from like 2 a.m. until 6:30 a.m., with women screaming and men with vulgar language.”

Since January, 311 received 40 noise complaints against De Event Room, 29 against Hall of Dreamz and seven against Flashing Lights.

The owner of Hall of Dreamz says they cut music by midnight and claims they've only hosted one party since June. A promoter at Flashing Lights says they haven't held an event in a month.

"I don't know what they talking about because this place is sound proof and we have a good relationship with the community,” said Lance Williams, promoter for Flashing Lights.

De Event Room declined to comment.

"We just want peace and quiet after 11 p.m., 12 a.m.,” Samerson said.

News 12 reached out to the NYPD for more information but so far, hasn't heard back.
