A grand jury has indicted a 21-year-old man accused of opening fire on a Bushwick corner street, killing a 7-month-old baby and injuring her toddler brother.

Amuri Greene was charged with multiple counts, including three counts of murder, assault, weapons possession and reckless endangerment, according to Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

The shooting killed 7-month-old Kaori Patterson-Moore, who was sitting in a stroller alongside her 2-year-old brother, who was also wounded.

Greene was not present in court when the indictment was announced.

Prosecutors say a second suspect, identified as Matthew Rodriguez, was driving the moped at the time of the shooting. Rodriguez was arrested in Pennsylvania and is awaiting extradition to New York, where he is also expected to face murder charges.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related. Sources familiar with the investigation say the children’s father was likely the intended target, though Gonzalez said he was not prepared to draw a direct connection.

“We know that he was intending to shoot at a person in that crowd, and the baby’s father was among those people,” Gonzalez said.

Authorities said the focus remains on getting justice for the family.

Rodriguez is expected to be extradited in the coming days. Once he is returned to New York, both defendants are expected to be arraigned.
