Over the years, there has been a push for girls to join STEM programs. At the Villa Walsh Academy in Morristown, young women are following that exact path.
A group named "Sisters First" is a robotics team filled with girls, turning this extracurricular into a passion.
They beat out 31 other teams to win the district tournament in Mount Olive, and they are currently ranked as the No. 2 robotics team in the state.
Their accomplishments don’t stop there. They are also ranked 90th in the world.
Sisters First is gearing up for the Mid-Atlantic championships next week at Lehigh University.
