Some New York residents who signed up to be emergency snow shovelers this past winter say that they are still waiting to be paid.
More than 5,000 New Yorkers signed up to work during one of this winter’s biggest storms, helping clear sidewalks, crosswalks and fire hydrants across the city
The Department of Sanitation says about 150 workers still have unresolved documentation issues. The department is continuing outreach efforts to help process payments.
DSNY is urging anyone experiencing payment issues or who is still waiting for compensation to contact DSNY directly at snowshovelerinquiry@dsny.nyc.gov for assistance.
