The FDNY says three people, including two firefighters, were treated for minor injuries after a fire on 14th Avenue in Borough Park.
They say the call came in just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday and was under control around 3:15 p.m.
The FDNY says at least 141 fire and EMS personnel responded.
The building houses a business and apartment units.
FDNY Battalion Chief Brian Collier says crews were able to stop the fire from spreading.
“If they didn’t get here as quick as they did and searched and spread hose lines as fast as they did and put water on the fire, it definitely would have spread to both occupancies and the third floor," said Chief Collier.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
