A federal jury in Brooklyn has convicted a man of participating in an extortion conspiracy in which the victim was found dead in Ellenville.

Shlomo Patchiav was convicted Friday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Authorities say he and a co-conspirator engaged in a conspiracy against the victim after the men failed to reach an agreement in a luxury watch deal.

The victim left his Brooklyn apartment in 2022 and was never seen again after turning over a luxury car to the co-conspirator.

Eight months later, his body was recovered from a residence in Ellenville.

Patchiav was accused of trying to hide his connection to the conspiracy after the victim was found killed.

He faces up to 20 years in prison. The co-conspirator remains at large.
