Knicks fans who were looking forward to the watch party outside Madison Square Garden to return will have to find somewhere else to watch the game.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced in a post that Knicks owner James Dolan has canceled the watch party.
The event was originally planned to be a ticketed event, with police saying they will set up the same safety protocols from Monday, limiting access to several streets.
The mayor said that he approved a request for a watch party of 999 fans outside MSG.
The watch party was canceled on Monday as well with President Donald Trump attending the game.
After the fall of the Knicks in Game 3 on Monday, fans took out their frustrations on the streets. Police tell News 12, 21 people were taken into custody and five officers were hurt.
"I don’t condone any violence towards anybody whether they’re on the opposing team or any human being," said one fan named Hong.
The Canadian flew in just for Game 4 and said he hopes fans leave the frustration on the court.
"I think that went a little overboard, but I think it’s great to be passionate, I think we have the best fans in the world," he said.
