The NYPD says a 46-year-old man is dead after he was shot in the head in front of a liquor store in Parkchester Monday evening.
The violent scene unfolded near 1503 White Plains Road just before 8:15 p.m. Monday.
News 12 crews viewed surveillance video of the shooting from a nearby business, which shows the victim standing in a group when the gunman in a long blue raincoat walks up to him, taps him with the gun and fires.
Police say EMS rushed the 46-year-old to Jacobi Hospital, where he died.
Officers quickly sectioned off a portion of the sidewalk with crime scene tape as they gathered evidence.
Information about what sparked the shooting or who may be responsible was not immediately available.
