One man dead after fire in East New York

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.

One man has died after a fire tore through a home in East New York.

FDNY responded to calls about a fire on the second floor of a home on Belmont Avenue.

Police say that the 62-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the home and was taken to One Brooklyn Health. He was pronounced dead.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
