35-year-old wounded in shooting on North Broadway in Yonkers

A 35-year-old man was injured in an early morning shooting in Yonkers on Friday.

Police say officers responded to the area of 171 North Broadway at approximately 2:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to both ankles and was taken to a local hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not considered life-threatening, and he is in stable condition.

When News 12 arrived at the scene around 9 a.m., a section of North Broadway remained taped off.

Investigators were seen searching through bushes near 175 North Broadway as they processed the scene.

After police removed the crime-scene tape, blood and several empty alcohol containers could be seen on the nearby sidewalk.

Authorities have not released information about a suspect or what led to the shooting.

Detectives from multiple units are continuing to work the case.
