Three people are dead, two others are injured and one person is missing after a boat overturned early Sunday afternoon in the waters between Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens.
Police said they received a 911 call at 12 p.m. of a vessel in distress. The U.S. Coast Guard said the caller reported the boat near Breezy Point in Queens.
The NYPD Harbor unit and the U.S. Coast Guard both responded.
Five people were pulled from the water. Four of them were unresponsive, according to the Coast Guard.
The Sandy Hook Pilots and NYPD Aviation Unit transported them to Staten Island University Hospital and the Coast Guard Station in Sandy Hook.
Police said three people were pronounced dead, two others are injured, one person is in critical condition and the other person is stable.
The Coast Guard was still searching for one missing person as of Sunday night.
