Several people were injured this morning after a garbage truck slammed into a building in Downtown Brooklyn.
According to officials, the truck hit a corner store at Bedford and Myrtle avenues at around 3 a.m. They say two workers on the truck, including one standing on the back, were taken to area hospitals.
Fire officials say that the driver of a second vehicle involved in the accident was also taken to the hospital for treatment. No one was inside the store at the time of the crash.
Inspectors from the Department of Buildings will be checking to ensure that the building is structurally sound.
