Nearly three dozen people have been displaced after a fire burned through two buildings Monday night.
The flames began just before 9 p.m. inside 312 Parkville Ave., according to fire officials.
The fire then spread to the building next door, growing to a third-alarm fire.
Officials say there was heavy smoke and at one point the FDNY was advising people in the area to close their windows.
Nearly 140 firefighters responded to the scene, and it took them two hours to get the fire under control. The FDNY says one firefighter suffered a minor injury.
News 12 is told 33 units within two buildings were affected, leaving 34 people displaced.
No one who lives inside the buildings was injured.
The Parkville Avenue building was deemed unsafe for anyone to be inside.
