Four firefighters were injured while battling a five-alarm fire Saturday afternoon in Van Nest, according to the FDNY.
The fire started in a mechanic shop at 1740 East Tremont Ave. and spread to other homes.
Fire officials say the fire displaced 16 people.
Crews were able to get the fire under control after three hours.
The Red Cross was on scene Saturday afternoon assisting displaced residents.
A cause of the fire was not immediately known.
