The People's Ball dazzled the Brooklyn Public Library for its fourth year on Sunday.
The Met Gala is one of the most glamorous events of the year. However, many people told News 12 the People's Ball sparks up the competition.
"If there is a Met Gala, we should do our own gala and call it, ‘The People’s Ball’, and build a catwalk in the middle of our central building," Jakab Orsos, vice president of Arts and Culture at the Brooklyn Public Library, told News 12.
Libraries are currently closed on Sundays, so 25 volunteers made the event possible.
“I love Brooklyn, I love dressing up, I want to be a part of fashion," said Kendra J. Bostock, of Bed-Stuy.
People of all ages attended the event. Two little girls told News 12 they love fashion and dressing up for any occasion.
“I’m wearing something that I sowed and designed," said Aurora, of Park Slope. "My sister is wearing something I sowed with my sowing machine and designed too.”
