A rally was held Sunday in Newark to commemorate the iconic "I have a Dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King.
The rally was organized outside of the Justice Building named after the civil rights leader.
Fifty-nine years ago Sunday, King delivered the speech during the march on Washington, D.C.
Thousands of people rallied for civil rights for Black people who were subject to discriminatory laws, that's until then President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
"This rally today and all the rallies we have, those are the things that Dr. King stood for," says Lawrence Hamm, chairman of the People's Organization of Progress.
Hamm added that Dr. King did not complete his work on civil rights, and that it's up to others to finish it.
