The second annual 5K Miles for MOMS race is raising money for food donations in the Port Chester community.
The event is hosted by
Meals on Main Street and the Colony Grill. Known to residents as “Caritas,” MOMS is a food hub with a mission to end food insecurity. It has been around for over 30 years.
MOMS also aims to eliminate the stigma behind seeking help, encouraging all members of the community to reach out when in need.
"The money we raise today will be used to buy turkeys and food that we will distribute between Thanksgiving and Christmas to this community,” said one organizer.
"The best part of it is just bringing the whole greater Port Chester community together to have a really fun event, support this amazing organization and spread awareness,” said a participant in the race.
