Six suspects are in custody in connection to their alleged involvement in the shooting death of a 9-year-old Bronx boy in the Dominican Republic.
Authorities say Gioser Luis Feliz and his father, Sergio Feliz, landed in Dominican Republic for vacation when they say his father's own friend of 10 years organized the attack.
Dominican police say the suspects fired shots from a vehicle, striking the young boy.
"This is a lesson learned -- it's bad luck that it's happening to our family, but don't trust anybody," said Gioser Luis Feliz's uncle."He [Sergio Feliz] said it hurts to know that someone so close to him can kill his son. Someone who saw him be born, also saw him die."
News 12 was told the six in custody have been detained as the "masterminds of this crime" while five more women were also under investigation Friday night.
Sergio Feliz his son's body will be sent back to the United State where he will be laid to rest.
