Police are searching for two masked gunmen after a mass shooting in
Cypress Hills left six teenagers injured over the weekend.
It happened just after a Sweet 16 party ended outside the event space Burbuja on Atlantic Avenue. Police say the shooting broke out just after 1 a.m. Sunday, as people were leaving the celebration.
Surveillance video captures the terrifying moment. You can hear more than 15 gunshots fired in rapid succession as people run for cover. Video also shows two people dressed in all black and wearing masks standing near the venue shortly before the gunfire began. Police believe those two individuals are the shooters.
Authorities say six teenagers were struck by gunfire — four boys and two girls — all between the ages of 15 and 17.
Police are still working to determine why it happened. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the exact motive is unknown, but investigators believe the shooting appears to be gang-related.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or recognizes the suspects to come forward as the investigation continues.
