An 89-year-old woman has died following an assault inside a Coney Island nursing home, NYPD confirms.

Police responded to a 911 call for an assault at approximately 10:27 p.m. Sunday at 3015 E. 29th St..

Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman suffering from severe head trauma.

The victim was taken to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, where she was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests, and the identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

Investigators have not released details about a possible weapon or motive.
