Animal lovers are hoping to get their hands on whoever is responsible for abandoning a cat near Prospect Park and posting a picture on social media.
Cat lover Nancy Rogers was on social media last week when she saw a picture of a caged cat on the sidewalk with a sign reading "Free Cat."
Rogers found the cat on Ocean Avenue and named him Kingpin. She shelled out her own money to take care of him and brought him to the Faithful Friends Animal Hospital in Gravesend to be vaccinated and neutered.
Rogers is hoping to find Kingpin a new home soon. The veterinarian says the cat is healthy and playful. Based on his teeth, the vet says he is only 1 to 2 years old.
