A Department of Transportation spokesperson said there have been no updates or a completion date on the Friendship Archway.

The archway was slated to come to Sunset Park more than 10 years ago.

Winnie Greco, an Eric Adams advisor whose property was investigated by the FBI last week, was allegedly involved in the Friendship Archway.

In 2013, China gifted the archway to the city, and in 2017, then-mayor Bill DeBlasio and then-Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams announced it would be located in Sunset Park.

The adopted 2020 budget for Brooklyn cited that the project, managed by the Department of Transportation, was put on pause due to "budgetary constraints."

The nonprofit associated with the project - and at one point headed by Greco, Sino America New York Brooklyn Archway Association - raked in more than $150,000 in donations between 2015 and 2018, according to IRS filings.

According to publicly available IRS information, the association's nonprofit status was revoked two years ago after not filing required tax forms for three consecutive years.

News 12 reached out to the acting president of the association. He said he has an upcoming meeting with the DOT.

News 12 asked about funding and the spokesperson did not mention any funding received by the Archway Association. They did say there is $5.8 million in the DOT project dedicated to the project and $2 million was provided in 2015 and 2016 by then Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.
