The Animal Care Centers of New York City are waiving its adoption fees on all dogs over 40 pounds.
The ACC says larger dogs are often overlooked especially in New York City.
Organizers say sometimes larger dogs require less activity than smaller dogs and can be better for city living.
The adoption fees will be waived through May 15.
