If you are planning to fly this summer, getting tickets soon could help your wallet.
Beginning June 15, airlines plan to raise costs on travelers. Those with tickets purchased from most major airlines on or after that date will now pay a fee from $15 to $25 for their first checked bag.
Passengers say it is crazy that they?ll be shelling out even more when they fly.
?It's too much, we pay too much as it is,? says Kelly Fox, who was taking a flight at LaGuardia Airport.
American Airlines spokesperson Ned Reynolds says the airline spent more than $9 billion on fuel this year, which he says is up drastically from last year.
Passengers at LaGuardia say that although their wallet will take a hit, it won't stop them from flying because with the price of gas as high as it is, flying still beats driving.
