The Aldi supermarket at Gateway Plaza in East New York hosted a hiring event Monday, where hundreds showed up hoping to land a job.
A total of 15 positions are available at two Aldi locations in Brooklyn and one in Queens. Applicants lined up and were then asked questions about their availability, background and methods of transportation.
The open positions include store associate, shift manager and manager.
Many who attended the event say the supermarket's reputation helped convince them to apply, in addition to the prospect of making $13 to $26 an hour.
Applicants who will be moving forward can expect a call within the next couple of days for a formal interview.
For those who do not make the cut, Aldi says it plans to hold more hiring events in the future.
