Alternate side parking rules for street cleaning have been fully restored to pre-pandemic frequency in New York City.

Drivers will need to move their car on both days listed on the sign on the street once again. The rules apply for the entire time posted on the sign, even if a street sweeper has passed.

According to the Department of Sanitation, mechanical sweeping is the most cost-effective and efficient way to keep streets cleans. They pick up several thousand pounds of litter and debris each day.
