A month after he was allegedly assaulted at the hands of NYPD officers, Jateik Reed is speaking out, saying life is very different and he's pushing to get his name cleared.
Reed, 19, was allegedly punched, kicked, and struck in the head with batons by a group of officers from the 42nd Precinct during a drug arrest. The attack was caught on video. At a rally today, Reed said that he rarely leaves his home now and suffers from back problems. His mother says he has trouble sleeping.
Meanwhile, community leaders are demanding accountability for all police brutality. Two high-profile incidents the leaders referred to include Reed's case and 18-year-old Ramarley Graham, who was shot to death in his own home three weeks ago during an alleged drug raid.
