Police say a 13-year-old student of P.S. 99 was hit by an ambulance Monday morning while crossing Coney Island Avenue and Avenue K.Witnesses say Janeyshaa Benn was crossing the street on her way to school when she was knocked unconscious by the ambulance. That ambulance then brought the victim to Kings County Hospital. Police remained at the scene to collect evidence, where residents were not surprised about the incident.?This is far from the first time this has happened,? says one witness. Many people in the area feel that drivers need to be more cautious before another accident occurs.Witnesses say there was one crossing guard present at the time, prompting some parents to call for more help to keep the students safe.
