DreamWorks Water Park will remain closed until Thursday after a decorative helicopter hanging from the ceiling fell down into the pool at American Dream mall in East Rutherford.
The helicopter display fell on Sunday around 3 p.m. Four people were injured, three people received First Aid at the water park and one person was taken to the hospital for more care. All injuries are non-life threatening.
Video from the scene showed crowds of people soaking wet in their bathing suits, lifeguards rushing and running around, and showing people confused and not really understanding what just happened.
American Dream released a statement saying, “the safety of our guests is our highest priority. We will conduct a thorough investigation into this incident to ensure the park meets all safety regulations as required."
American Dream says people who purchased tickets for DreamWorks Water Park in advance should have received an email. Other theme parks and attractions in the mall are open during normal hours.
