American Museum of Natural History welcomes guests after pandemic closure

For a fun day close to home you might consider a cultural institution that draws millions each year.
Museums are back open across New York City, and the American Museum of Natural History is ready for visitors.
It's one of the most visited museums in the city, last year getting upward of 5 million visitors.
This year, the American Museum of Natural History is a lot quieter, but people are still enjoying it.
Popular for its dinosaur displays, landscapes and the massive whale model, which is always a favorite. Officials with the museum say it's a perfect time for locals to explore the collection.
Safety, of course, is a number one priority with temperature checks, social distancing and mandatory mask wearing.
The museum is operating at 25% capacity to keep everyone safe. Tickets are available online.
