Animal activists gathered in Crown Heights to call on authorities to arrest the owner of two dogs left out in the blizzard.

The protest was sparked by a video taken by a neighbor that shows the dogs outside in the storm with only an uninsulated doghouse for shelter. The video went viral, and now protesters want the owner, June Wiggins, to face consequences.

Police officers did issue Wiggins a criminal summons that ordered her to keep the dogs inside. Protesters say it wasn't enough, adding that she should be arrested.

Meanwhile, one of the dogs was taken in by Guardians of Rescue on Long Island. The founder of the organization says he was able to get the owner to give up the dog after tough negotiations. The organization is also trying to rescue the other dog from the owner.
