More than 100 people showed up at Brooklyn South District 11 Sunday morning for the annual Michael Hanly Memorial 5K run. The run is named after Brooklyn sanitation worker Michael Hanly, who was killed on the job in 1996. Since the run was established, Sanitation Commissioner John J. Doherty says five other sanitation workers have also been killed on the job. Members from the Department of Sanitation say all of the proceeds from the race will go to the deceased workers? families.
