Hundreds of people donned colorful and mythical costumes to celebrate the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade Saturday.
Over 3,000 people marched down Surf Avenue dressed as mermaids, pirates, sea creatures and more.
Kids got in on the fun, showing off cute costumes of their own.
The goal of the event is to bring mythology to life and allow people to express themselves freely through art.
One of the floats was set to be crowned the winner of the parade.
