An anti-violence meeting at the Red Hook Houses got heated Wednesday night as tenants and local leaders attempted to find ways to combat crime.
Angry residents told District Attorney Charles Hynes that they don't feel safe in the houses, calling attention to five shootings with seven victims this summer, in addition to other crimes involving guns and drugs.
Hynes encouraged the community to talk to him about specific violence they witness and says he'll be back for another community meeting after Labor Day.
