A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run Tuesday in Crown Heights.
Police say Janice Vargas-Cruz is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
As previously reported, 93-year-old Milwood Hughes was first hit by a tractor-trailer and then a black sedan on Albany Avenue.
Police say Vargas-Cruz is believed to be the driver of the sedan. In surveillance video, they say she appeared to get out of the car and check on Hughes before fleeing.
Residents in the area say that Hughes lived on the street, and was well-known and liked by everyone.
Police are continuing to search for the truck driver.
