Red Hook native Gloria Miguel, 95, still
gets the same feeling acting on the stage today that she did decades ago.
“It keeps me alive. I'm quite old and I'm
still performing,” she told News 12.
Miguel, along with her three sisters, took
to the stage to tell their stories about their lives, about being Native
American and born in Brooklyn – and they did so around the world.
“We learned a lot on our feet. We had
great experiences and you came home full of knowledge,” she said.
That knowledge poured into her work. It
was seen on stage as she looked to educate audiences on women's issues and
indigenous matters.
