Authorities say one person is in custody following an assault on a commercial bus traveling on the state thruway in Orange County.

Police say the incident happened as the bus made its way through Newburgh around 7 p.m. Friday. 

They say the bus was traveling southbound when a physical altercation happened between two men just past the Meadow Hill Road overpass. Both males sustained injuries as a result of the fight.

One man was taken into custody. 

The victim was treated on the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
