With the first day of school around the corner, students across the borough will be looking to make a fashion statement in the hallways.
News 12 Brooklyn visited Uniqlo at the Atlantic Terminal Shopping Center to find out what the latest trends will be for returning students.
Chief merchandising officer Steven Sare says bright fun colors will be trending for both boys and girls. He says patterns such as tartan and leopard are also expected to make a big splash.
Sare says sweats with Disney characters will also be a hot wardrobe trend for girls and boys.
The marketing department at Atlantic Center says its stores will have special deals and fashion trends for back-to-school shoppers.
School starts on Sept. 4 for New York City students.
