The Barclays Center is stepping up its game with a $100 million renovation, all designed to show love the Brooklyn way.
The arena has unveiled new fan-experience spaces inspired by the borough’s energy and built with the community in mind.
“I’ve been a fan of the Brooklyn Nets since they left New Jersey,” said Naiquan Midyett, a longtime supporter. “For them to put us first is kind of dope!”
The multimillion-dollar upgrades are part of a five-year plan to enhance the guest experience, featuring the new Gallagher Terrace, Modelo Bridge, and upgraded dressing rooms, each with a nod to Brooklyn’s iconic landmarks.
“We have a massive international fan base,” said Shanon Ferguson, Chief Hospitality Officer for BSE Global, which operates Barclays Center. “So when people come in and experience it, they feel that they’re also taking Brooklyn back home with them.”
One of the most striking additions is the Modelo Bridge , a two-level, multi-use space inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge and constructed with stones sourced from the same quarry as the bridge’s original bricks.
“The stone that we have at the base of this bridge actually came from the quarry where the original Brooklyn Bridge bricks were picked,” Ferguson explained.
Nearby, the Gallagher Terrace offers fans an elevated in-seat dining experience, allowing guests to enjoy a meal and still catch every play.
“While the design is stunning, it actually gives the fans an opportunity to never leave their seats,” Ferguson said.
According to Ferguson, every element of the renovation was designed with intention, ensuring fans have the best possible experience from every seat in the house.
“Everything that we do, from design to efficiency to aesthetic is truly intentional for everyone that comes into the arena,” he said.
The upgrades mark a new era for Barclays Center, blending Brooklyn’s signature grit and creativity with a world-class fan experience, proving once again that this arena is more than just a venue; it’s a symbol of Brooklyn pride.
