The Bedford-Stuyvesant community is recovering after a four-story building collapsed, sending billowing smoke through their neighborhood.
Police and crews from the Office of Emergency Management were on Fulton Street Wednesday. Fire officials say a vacant four-story building crumbled to the ground on Tuesday, sending three people who were walking nearby to the hospital.
An OEM representative says that there is an active vacate order in effect for a neighboring building, 1440 Fulton St., where utilities have been cut. They also say residents in three apartments have been relocated.
Fire officials say the three victims will be OK.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
