The Biden administration has announced over $1 billion in funding for rail infrastructure safety.
The funds are set to go toward 70 separate projects across 35 states. It comes after a series of high-profile rail accidents, including the toxic derailment of one train in East Palestine, Ohio.
However, none of the funds will be going toward that community. An administration official says that's because there were no grant applications from East Palestine.
