Bike Build in Mott Haven aims to deliver donated bicycles for the holidays

Waste Connections of New York City held its fifth annual Bike Build in Mott Haven Sunday with the goal to deliver bicycles to children in need this holiday season.
Division Vice President Charles Mahoney said the event “builds community spirit.”
"Seeing a child smile and jump for joy just for a bicycle is priceless," said operations manager Moises Acevedo.
Last year, the organization donated more than 200 bikes locally. This year, they hope to do even more to ensure kids have a special gift for the holidays.
"I feel really good knowing that other kids are getting gifts," said volunteer Norah Siurano.
Waste Connections' goal is to donate more than 10,000 bikes across the country this holiday season.
