A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a sanitation truck in Downtown Brooklyn Saturday morning, officials say.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim of the crash was traveling north on Schermerhorn Street at around 5:30 a.m. when he ran a red light and collided with the side of a Viking sanitation truck that was going south on Nevins Street.
Witnesses say the biker, who was later identified by relatives as a 40-year-old transit worker from Queens, slid under the truck and was run over by its front wheel.
