The Billie Holiday Theatre in Bedford-Stuyvesant has reopened its doors following a multimillion-dollar renovation that was completed earlier this year.
Rehearsals are in full swing for the production of "The Old Settler," written by John Henry Redwood, a Brooklyn native. Its story is set in 1940s Harlem and follows the lives of two sisters and a young man who comes to board with them.
Actors say they can't wait to be part of the first cast to perform a play in the newly renovated space.
Opening night is Oct. 26.
